Side 1: In loving memory of Walter Lewis of Bryn-y-cwm, Govilon, who entered into rest, June 20th 1895 aged 62 years "Numbered with thy saints in glory everlasting". Side 2: In affectionate remembrance of Rebecca, relict of the late Walter Lewis who died at Govilon House on Sunday October 14th 1872 aged 72 years Verse. Also Rachel, widow of the late T,D, Thomas of Liverpool (?), and daughter of the above who died 24th March 1895 aged 63 years. Verse. Side 3: John, the third son of Walter & Rebecca Lewis, died February 9th 1837 aged 7 months, ....Sarah, eldest daughter of ....died April 29th 1841 (?) aged 18 years (?) Side 4: In loving memory of Rebecca Ann, the beloved daughter of Joshua & Mary Lewis, Bryn-y-cwm, died 4th July 1891 aged 20 years. Verse.

  • Notes: Side 2: Rebecca Lewis nee Lewis, widow of Walter Lewis, whose 1st wife was Leah Hiley, was mother of the Walter Lewis died 1895 aged 62. Side 3: Sarah eldest daughter of (probably Walter & Leah Lewis) died April 29th 1841 (?) 1841 probably incorrect- possibly 1844 1847 ? Walter & Leah marriage settlement at Cwmbran addition states - Sister Ann sole surviving descendent of marriage. Leah is mentioned in her mother's will as deceased in 1844, but Sarah and Ann, her children, still living.
