During 2007, Govilon Heritage was invited by Brecon Beacons National Park and Torfaen Borough Council to host a series of guided walks based on the Govilon Heritage Trails. 3 walks, were undertaken, each led by a member of the heritage group, supported by wardens from Torfaen Borough Council. All the walks were very successful and attracted a number of visitors from both near and further afield.
In the Autumn of 2007, we were fortunate to welcome Chris Barber - a member of the heritage group, well known author and local historian - to host an evening talk on local history. Again, this was very successful with a full audience in attendance at the local chapel hall.
During 2008, Govilon Heritage will be building on this success by running 3 summer walks and 3 winter talks. Our first talk (22nd February 2008) is already booked - full details on our winter talks page. The 3 walks are already scheduled and publicised. The first - on March 1st 2008 - to coincide with with the Crickhowell Walking Festival.
Full details of our walks & talks programme for 2008 can be accessed using the menu items on the left.
All the walks are described in detail on this website, and on our village leaflet which is obtainable from a number of outlets in the village and surrounding area.
